From the Membership Chairperson of the Veterans of Post 556, and Newsletter Person
I must sent out my apologize to all members of Samuel L. Derby Post 556, I have been tasked with the Newsletter, and updating the mailing list of Our Post.
Over the past few months I have been updating the mailing list by removing non members, deceased members and addresses of individuals who have moved and haven't notified Post 556 of an address change. Last newsletter of 2017 we mailed out over 1200 newsletters and after going through the list it is now down to 854. This includes members who are currently paid up for the 2018 year. So we have been paying for postage for those 300 members who didn't hold a current membership here at our Post since their membership expired in ?????? 2010 to present time.
If you are not a current member you can get the newsletter on this webpage by clicking above on Full Calendar, Newsletter
I apologize for the mistake of not telling the printer to put the initial of L for Legion member, A for Auxiliary Member, or S for Sons Members on this mailing label to indicate you have paid for 2018.
Since I forgot: If you have a current 2018 membership card in your possession, you are a current paid up member of Post 556 and you will continue to receive a newsletter in the mail, and .unless you elect to retrieve it on this website or join our e mailing list to receive said newsletter and updates of the Post events You usually can get it before receiving it in the mail...plus one of the Large newsletters will contain additional information, I can not fit in the one page newsletter being mailed.
Once again please accept my apology and I hope to have the newsletter out soon in April.
My apologize go out to Cindy Reidy and the Joseph P. Dwyer (Peer to Peer Group) Program of Chautauqua County it was written in the Post Newsletter as the Blue Star Mother's.....sponsoring the room at the United Christian Advocacy Network (UCAN) Mission on 1st St. Jamestown, New York. This is not true the Dwyer Program is sponsoring the Veterans Room. The Newsletter has been corrected and reposted here.
of Western New York Monthly Meeting - Date Change due to Valentines Day is on our regular meeting night.
